Picofy | Picosecond Laser for Pigmentation & Tattoos | UK

Are patients leaving your clinic for tattoo removal and stubborn pigmentation your current lasers can’t clear cleanly?

Picofy by InMode is a picosecond Nd:YAG laser built to fragment pigment and tattoo ink with speed and precision, while limiting the heat spread that older lasers rely on. As a global leader in aesthetic and medical device technology, InMode brings clinics a high-performance platform that opens a dependable revenue category in pigment correction, tattoo removal, and skin revitalisation.

A picosecond platform engineered for precise, efficient pigment clearance

About the Picofy Device

Picofy is a functionally optimised Nd:YAG picosecond laser – often referred to simply as a “pico laser” – that delivers energy in ultra-short 300 picosecond pulses – a picosecond being one trillionth of a second. Because each pulse is so short, the energy is delivered extremely quickly, breaking pigment particles apart through a photoacoustic effect rather than relying on prolonged heat. Smaller pigment fragments are cleared more readily by the body, and the surrounding tissue is exposed to less thermal energy.

The platform operates across two wavelengths – 1064 nm for deeper dermal pigment, darker skin tones, and black tattoo ink, and 532 nm for more superficial epidermal pigment and warmer ink colours.
A uniform “top-hat” beam profile spreads energy evenly across the treatment area rather than concentrating it in the centre, supporting consistent coverage. Patented Thermal Lens Control maintains a consistent spot size, and Power Factor Correction supports stable energy output across
the treatment.

At InMode, our UK device specialists work closely with each clinic to assess patient demographics, treatment goals, and existing technology, helping you determine whether Picofy is the right investment to expand into pigment correction, tattoo removal, and skin revitalisation.

A picosecond platform engineered for precise, efficient pigment clearance

Why clinics choose Picofy for pigment and tattoo work

Benefits of the picofy Device

Picosecond speed for efficient clearance

A 300 picosecond pulse duration, delivered at up to 2.0 GW peak power, fragments pigment through a photoacoustic effect - producing smaller particles that the body clears more readily. This supports fast, efficient treatment across both pigmented lesions and tattoo ink.

Two wavelengths across every handpiece

All three handpieces deliver both 1064 nm and 532 nm, covering a broad range of pigment depths and tattoo colours from a single device. This reduces the need for separate systems and widens the range of cases a clinic can accept.

Uniform top-hat beam profile

Picofy’s optical design delivers a uniform top-hat beam that eliminates excessive peak energy at the centre of the beam. Energy is distributed evenly across the treatment area, supporting consistent coverage and reducing the risk of hot spots or uneven results.

Consistent spot size at any repetition rate

In conventional picosecond lasers, high-energy pulses at high repetition rates heat the laser rod and cause thermal lensing, which shrinks the spot size and unintentionally raises the energy density reaching the skin. Picofy’s patented Thermal Lens Control system, together with flashlamp and simmer stabilisation, holds the spot size and beam quality steady across the full 1–10 Hz range - supporting repeatable, predictable treatments.

Stable, efficient energy delivery

Patented Power Factor Correction keeps energy output stable throughout each procedure, and a patented single-chamber laser oscillation design - in place of the double-chamber approach used by many other lasers - improves stability and efficiency. Practitioners can rely on the set energy level being delivered consistently.

Pigment, tattoos, and skin revitalisation

Beyond pigment and ink removal, Picofy addresses acne scarring, fine lines, enlarged pores, and general skin revitalisation. Clinics can serve patients seeking correction and those seeking rejuvenation from the same platform.

Non-surgical with minimal downtime

Treatments are performed in-clinic without incisions or extended recovery. Most patients return to normal activities promptly, which supports compliance with multi-session protocols.

Recurring revenue potential

Tattoo removal and pigment correction are inherently multi-session, and revitalisation protocols encourage repeat visits. This generates predictable, recurring revenue rather than one-off bookings.

Interchangeable handpieces for pigment, ink, and skin revitalisation

Picofy Device Handpieces Explained

ARRAY MLA110 (1064 nm / 532 nm)

The Array MLA110 is a microlens-array handpiece with a 4–12 mm spot size. It fractionates the beam into a grid of focused microbeams - a delivery method well suited to skin revitalisation, acne scarring, and fine lines, spreading treatment across the area while leaving surrounding tissue to support healing.

PEAK MLA60 (1064 nm / 532 nm)

The Peak MLA60 is a second microlens-array handpiece, also with a 4–12 mm spot size, offering an alternative array configuration so practitioners can tailor fractional treatment to the concern being addressed.

ZOOM (1064 nm / 532 nm)

The Zoom handpiece offers an adjustable spot size from 2–10 mm, letting practitioners adapt to the size of the lesion or tattoo and switch between broader coverage and more focused work without changing handpieces. It is the primary choice for direct pigment and tattoo treatment.
